For more than a decade, language has been the center of my professional and personal life. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Portuguese and Brazilian Literature from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where I also studied Classical Latin, Greek, History of the language — disciplines that shaped my understanding of how languages are built, connected, and evolve through time.
My career began with the privilege of teaching Portuguese and writing in social projects, helping people from low-income communities discover the transformative potential of education. That experience grounded me in the human side of language — the side that builds bridges, not barriers.
Later, I worked in the editorial world as a proofreader, copywriter, and text editor for books and magazines. Those years surrounded by words, structure, and meaning taught me precision, clarity, and the power of communication that reaches people, not just readers. Every sentence became an opportunity to make ideas sound natural and alive.
Since moving to Switzerland in 2021, I’ve come to see language learning from another perspective. Living abroad reminded me of how essential it is to learn not only the words of a language but the culture that gives them life. Being an immigrant myself helps me understand my students’ needs, frustrations, and small victories as they navigate a new linguistic world.
Today, through SpeakBrazil, I bring all these experiences together — my academic background, editorial precision, and personal understanding of cultural adaptation — to teach Portuguese in a way that is clear, culturally rich, and deeply human.
